What to Wear for Your Photoshoot in Zadar: A Simple Guide

"What should we wear?" — it's the question I hear most once a shoot is booked, and I completely understand it. Standing in front of your wardrobe wondering what photographs well can feel surprisingly stressful. The good news: it's much simpler than it looks, and I'm always happy to help you plan.

Here's everything I usually share with my clients.

Soft colours photograph best

If you take just one tip from this post, let it be this: white, cream and soft pastel tones photograph beautifully. They catch natural light gently, they don't compete with your face, and during golden hour — that warm half-hour before sunset when I love to shoot — they positively glow.

You don't need anything fancy. A simple linen dress, a light shirt, soft neutral trousers. Those quiet colours let the light, the location and you be the stars.

Skip busy patterns and logos

The one thing I gently steer people away from is loud patterns, slogans and big logos. They pull the eye straight to the fabric — and away from your face, your expression, the little moment we're capturing. Solid colours or very subtle textures keep the attention exactly where it belongs: on you and the people you love.

Coordinate, don't match

For couples and families, the secret is to coordinate rather than match. Everyone in identical white shirts can look a little stiff. Instead, pick one soft palette — say creams and sandy neutrals, or dusty blue and white — and let each person wear their own version of it.

The result feels relaxed and pulled-together at the same time: like you belong in the photo together, without trying too hard.

Comfort counts as much as colour

Whatever you choose, choose something you genuinely feel good in. If you're tugging at a waistband or worrying about a neckline, it tends to show — and when you feel wonderful, that shows too. Flowy fabrics are a lovely choice: they catch the breeze and move beautifully as you walk.

And if you can't decide, bring a second outfit. We can always switch partway through.

Still not sure? Let's plan it together

You really don't have to figure this out alone. Helping you choose outfits — colours, combinations, what suits the location and the light — is part of what I do for every shoot. Send me a few photos of what you're considering, and I'll happily help you put it together.
